Hello - we're bakers!
The important thing about Blackbird Bakery is that we make everything we sell. That's everything, from bread, cakes, pastries, biscuits, breakfast cereals, jams, marmalades to fresh juices, sandwiches, salads and even dog biscuits when we have the time! We start with the basics: butter never margarine, organic flour, free range eggs and fair trade sugar. Our coffee is locally roasted, always freshly ground and UTZ certified. We don't use big tubs of frosting or frozen 'bake-off' products from the big national suppliers. It's not always the easiest way but we respect the tradition and technique of making delicious breads and pastries from scratch without artificial flavours, preservatives or so called 'improvers'. That's because we're bakers, and we're proud of it! Blackbird began on a market stall in East Dulwich. We now have 6 shops across South London, scroll down for locations and opening times. You can also still find us at our original pitch on North Cross Road, every Saturday in East Dulwich as well as at the Herne Hill market every Sunday on Railton Road.
