The important thing about Blackbird Bakery is that we make everything we sell. That’s everything - from bread, cakes, pastries, biscuits, breakfast cereals, jams, marmalades, to fresh juices, sandwiches, salads, soups and even dog biscuits (when we have the time!) We start with the basics: butter (no margarine), flour (all organic), eggs (free-range) and sugar. We use the best chocolate (70%), nuts, fruits and fresh produce we can. Our coffee is always freshly ground and UTZ certified. We don’t use big tubs of ready made frosting, or frozen ‘bake-off’ products from the big national suppliers. It’s not always the easiest way, but we respect the tradition and technique of making delicious breads and pastries from scratch without artificial flavours, preservatives or so-called ‘improvers’ That’s because we are bakers and we’re proud of it.
